Ian has over 40 years of broad international business experience, with a focus on products/manufacturing, information technology and change management. He held a number of management and leadership roles before doing an MBA and starting a consulting career with Accenture for 22 years in a range of industries. Ian participates on a number of management boards and committees, including as chairman. Ian is an active investor in several start-ups, including medical devices, mining and finance. He also works in many volunteer roles, including at the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

David Smith has over 30 years’ experience, starting, building and selling European and US based businesses. For the last 6 years he has focused on interim CEO work, helping create value for shareholders in medical device businesses across a broad spectrum of medical specialties.

David has worked for large businesses (Carl Zeiss, Coopervision, Biocompatibles International plc) as well as many small and start up clients in Interventional Cardiology, Ophthalmology, POC Diagnostics, CROs, General Surgery, Neuroradiology and Cardiac Surgery.

He has focused more recently on ‘doing less with more’ for US clients seeking to establish a business outside the US, and for European or Australian clients seeking to start their US operations.

David was the founding CEO of Tenaxis Medical Inc, a surgical sealant business that was established in 2004 and was sold to the Medicines Company in a 2014 transaction that valued the business at $184M.

David has occupied board seats at Tenaxis Medical Inc, Elektron Eye Technology and IDE Vision Ltd.

He has been instrumental in raising over $100M for companies he has been associated with and has experience in taking companies public.
